Helping Uncle Dustin
Dustin got a little help putting together a stroller for Julie from Ethan. Who says men don't read the instructions?

President of the Sophie Fan Club
I know people always say how their little ones idolize older siblings, but I never really knew how early it happened. First, Addison gets very happy any time I set her down in Sophie's bed. It's as if she thinks she's a big girl, in a big girl bed. But, when Sophie also gets in the bed, she lights up like a Christmas tree.
(I am going to treasure every sweet little moment like this and hope that its a really long time before I hear "get her out of my room!!!!")

Little Farmer
This year I was hoping that planting a few vegetables together would encourage Sophie that veggies could be yummy. We didn't get to plant as much as I would have liked but we have had quite a few yellow squash and lots of yummy tomatoes. Sophie chose the watermelon plants and she was extremely happy when I let her a pick a couple to see if they were ready. (Yes, she's in her pajamas. We tend to do a lot of things around here in pjs!)

11 weeks and a Whoo Hoo
Now I know I am probably jinxing myself and I completely know that this may be a fluke, BUT....this little sweetie slept until 6:40am this morning!!!! (After her 10:30pm feeding) I don't think Sophie did this until she was practically 5 months old. Now I realize it could change in a heart beat but for one lovely day if one of those snotty mothers comes up to me and says "Is she sleeping through the night yet?," I get to say, "why, yes she is. How about yours?" Hee hee.
(PS. Thanks Aunt Julie for my cute, cute outfit. As you can see, I look adorable! Love, Addison)

Ewwwww
I do a lot of activities with Sophie, but there are some activities that are better suited for a Daddy. Today's activity was one....."Snakes Alive" at the library. As you can see from these pictures, Sophie had an absolute blast! Me...well, I get the heebie jeebies just looking at the pictures! Thank goodness for Daddies!

Our Babies
Sophie has never been a girl that loved baby dolls. Lately, however, she seems to be taking an interest in doing the things she sees Mommy doing with Addison. If Addison plays on her little play mat, then so does Sophie's baby. If Addison has tummy time, then Sophie's baby needs tummy time too.

The 4th of July
We all had a great time at Mom and Dad's house for the 4th! Sophie and Mackenzie had a particularly great time playing outside all day...not even coming in for lunch. What were they doing that was so great? Swimming in the pool...no.....Riding bikes....no....
Making MUD in Nana and Grandad's newly trenched natural areas, of course!

Happy Birthday Nana
With my Dad out of town and Julie and I having little ones, my Mom's birthday was a quiet one...sort of. Mackenzie and Sophie fell asleep on the way to her little party and woke up grumpy. Ethan and Addison were, well, babies....crying or whining. However, we plunged on and ordered Mexican food and had chocolate cake that the girls helped make. I think Mom was probably more tired when we all left but a Happy Birthday party we had!
Here's a pic of Nana and her grand babies.....with a 4 year old, a 3 year old, an 8 month old and a 2 month old, this is as good as it gets!

8 Weeks!
I cannot believe Addison has been a part of our little family for 8 weeks now. Adjusting has taken a little longer than I had expected, but we're slowly (very slowly....I mean real, real slow) starting to adjust. :) She's has started to give us her sweet little smiles more frequently which makes all these sleepless nights so very worth it!
Sophie loves to hold her little sis and Addison will let her for quite a long time without fussing. It's amazing how quickly they tune in to other children.
So, finally, without further ado, the moment I have been waiting for...and many more to come...THE MATCHING SISTER OUTFIT PICS!

Finally!....
After what felt like a long time waiting, FINALLY, Dustin, Sophie and I have added to our little family! On Thursday, 4/29 around 3:30pm, we got the call that our expected bundle was on her way. By 4:00pm, cars descended on our house like a police raid! I threw clothes in suitcases... Dustin made airline reservations..Julie packed Sophie a bag to spend the night with Nana...Mom stood looking dazed with a glass of pinot grigio in her hand (hee hee..just kidding). By 8:30pm, Dustin and I were sitting on a plane heading to Chicago. We landed around 12:00am. We drove really fast to the hospital wondering if a cop pulled us over we could explain that we were about to have a baby even though I didn't (hopefully) look pregnant....we jumped out of the car at 12:30am...I was able to go into the delivery room...and at 12:39am Friday morning our little Addison made her appearance. It was absolutely breathtaking! So without further ado...

The "First" Day of School
Well, officially the first day of school was Wednesday....BUT...of course my little one was SICK. She was very excited to go today though. And how she has changed in a year. She was very clear that she wanted Mom to leave and that I could pick her up later. (Should I be happy or sad?) It went well and she had a good day. When she got in the car, she said, "Hi mom, its so nice to see you." :) I love it when she says these random adult-like expressions.
So...here's to a good, tear free, and sick free year!
